Group programs · Children, young people and adults

Therapy that looks like joy.

Our group programs put real clinical intention under real fun. Dance x OT and our LEGO group are designed by clinicians, run with heart, and built so people connect, regulate and grow, together. Joy on the surface, clinical intention underneath.

Our programs

Two programs, one idea: grow through what you love.

Each group is built around something people genuinely enjoy, with clinical goals woven through. Here is what is running now.

Dance x OT. Therapeutic movement meets occupational therapy, led by Kelly and Lucy, both occupational therapists with eighteen years of dance experience each, with speech pathology support for peer communication. It is not about being a great dancer. It is a space to use movement to regulate, express, connect and grow. The work underneath includes emotional expression and self-advocacy, body awareness, social connection, mindfulness and motor planning.
LEGO social skills group. A clinically designed, LEGO-based group for children who love to build, around ages six to eleven, led by Kate, an occupational therapist trained in LEGO therapy. Through collaborative building with shared roles, we create natural moments for social communication, flexible thinking, teamwork and regulation, led by the child's own interest rather than a worksheet.
More on the way. We are always developing new groups. Coming soon: a fine motor group, a school readiness program, and a literacy group. Register your interest and we will let you know what suits.
How we work

The ecosystem comes before the therapy.

Group programs sit inside the same approach we use for everything: we make sure the wider supports are in place first. Before a group starts, we look at the whole system around the person. Groups complement individual therapy, and we keep the people around them in the loop at every step.

01 Understand the whole life 02 Stabilise the ecosystem 03 Coordinate the team 04 Build goals with you 05 Therapy where life happens 06 Review and adjust

We put the key-worker hat on

Every clinician here is a trained Key Worker. We coordinate the whole team so you are not managing seven separate experts.

We stabilise first

Consults, supports, an NDIS consult if it is needed. We get the person steady before we build skills.

Goals built with you, not for you

Functional goals in your own words, tied to the life you actually want to live.

Where your feet are

Home, school, the cafe, the workplace, the community, or telehealth. A board that works in the clinic but not at the shop is not good enough.

Transdisciplinary by default

Speech and occupational therapy are not siloed. We share strategies across the team so the plan is one plan.

We will always find a way

If the usual path does not fit, we turn left. Creative is how we are wired, because we are neurodivergent too.

What makes our groups different

Groups are not cheaper therapy.

A clinically designed group is a different thing from an after-school activity. Here is the difference.

01

Every group is designed by clinicians and run with clinical intention, not just supervised play.

02

Joy is the method, not a bonus. People grow fastest through what they genuinely enjoy.

03

Neurodivergence-affirming throughout. We build around how people are wired, never against it.

04

Suitability screening before enrolment, so every group is the right fit for the people in it.

05

Small groups, so everyone is seen.

06

We describe what a group does and who it suits, and we never promise a result we cannot guarantee.

Joy on the surface

Joy on the surface. Clinical intention underneath.

We meet people where the fun is, then weave the real work through it. Connection, regulation, communication and confidence are not drilled, they are grown, in a room full of people doing something they love, where their feet are. And if the group someone needs does not exist yet, we will find a way to build it. We get creative, we pivot, and there is always a way.

Cannot see the right group?

Tell us what you wish existed, and we might just build it.

We are creative, and we are open. If there is a group your child, your young person or your participant would love, and we can run it well, we want to hear it. A sibling group, a teen social club, a sensory movement group, an evening for parents, whatever it is. Some of our best ideas started with someone simply asking.

Funding

How NDIS funding works for group programs.

We will always be straight with you about funding, and we never bill you to navigate the NDIS.

NDIS funding may cover group therapy where it aligns with the participant's goals and approved plan. Not all NDIS plans include group supports.

Why The Centered Space

Clinical backbone. Human heart.

We are a neurodivergence-affirming team, and we are genuinely like family. Every clinician is a trained Key Worker before they ever work here, so the person in front of you sees the whole picture, not just their discipline. Every group is backed by the whole team: quarterly whole-team case conferences, fortnightly clinical case conferences across disciplines, an internal NDIS specialist we meet with every week, and individual clinical supervision. That is what makes us different, and it is why people stay with us for years.

Questions

Frequently asked

No. Every group is designed by clinicians and run with clinical intention. The fun is the method, not the substitute for it.
Therapeutic movement combined with occupational therapy, led by an occupational therapist with a long dance and mindfulness background, with speech pathology support for peer communication. It is a space to regulate, express, connect and grow, not a dance class to perform in.
A clinically designed group, around ages six to eleven, that uses collaborative LEGO building with shared roles to create natural moments for social communication, flexible thinking, teamwork and regulation.
We screen for suitability before enrolment, so the group is the right fit for them and for the others in it. If it is not the right fit, we will say so and suggest something better.
Movement and connection-based groups can suit adults too. Tell us what you are looking for and we will let you know what is running or coming up.
NDIS funding may cover group therapy where it aligns with the participant's goals and approved plan. Not all NDIS plans include group supports. We help you understand your plan in plain language, and we never bill you to navigate the NDIS.
